INCUBUS | Tomorrow’s Food
I’m going way back to the band that I grew up to love when I was a child. From their crazy Fungus Amongus material, mellowed out Morning View, to the intense Light Grenades, etc. To this day, I still love them and so glad to hear that they’re back with new material.
Incubus is a five-man alternative rock band formed in 1991, based in Calabasas, California. Members include Brandon Boyd (vocals and percussion), Mike Einziger (guitar), Ben Kenney (bass), Jose Pasillas II (drums) and DJ Chris Kilmore (turntables). Former members of the band include Gavin Koppel (a.k.a. DJ Lyfe) (turntables) and Alex Katunich (a.k.a. Dirk Lance) (bass). The band’s name may seem a peculiar choice to fans, as an incubus is a type of demon that, in mythological lore, comes in the night and has sex with women while they are sleeping; it seduces them in their dreams.
When I listened to the whole album, I noticed the maturity of their sound ever so growing like every other album they have produced. It’s amazing, really. These guys have such talent with every aspect of a band. Seeing them live twice, I can say they were brilliantly amazing each time. This track really stood out because of the melody and the vocals that Brandon expresses. Really reminds me of his slower material like “Talk Shows On Mute.” Get this album, it’s real good. Trust me.
FACT: Mike Eizinger is my main inspiration for guitar’ing. Still and most likely will forever be my favorite.
